More than 15 per cent of immigrants leave Canada within 20 years of admission to return to their country of origin or to move to another country, according to a new Statistics Canada report, (https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/) which also highlights the difficulties some immigrants might face in Canadian society.
The report, which was released Friday and examined immigrants admitted between 1982 and 2017, found the number of immigrants who left increased to 17.5 per cent after 20 years of admission. More than 5 per cent of immigrants admitted between these years emigrated within five years of landing.
