The CEO of TTC has cautioned that there may be disruptions to TTC services on Monday if electrical and trades workers proceed with their planned strike.

The TTC's chief has cautioned about potential service disruptions on Monday if the union representing more than 650 electrical and trades workers proceeds with a strike. CUPE Local 2, which represents these workers, has set a strike deadline of 12:01 a.m. on April 22.

Ongoing negotiations between the TTC and CUPE Local 2 aim to reach an agreement over the weekend and prevent service disruptions. TTC CEO Rick Leary expressed hope for a resolution but emphasized the possibility of job action affecting TTC operations next week.

This strike threat follows a court decision last year that removed the TTC's essential service designation, allowing its employees to strike for the first time in over a decade. The TTC will provide updates on social media and its website regarding any developments related to potential service disruptions.
