About Brixel Education Center
Creating excitement in a world where students can just use technology to go into exciting and fun spaces is becoming harder and harder. Thus, the best way to attract students of the 21st century is to immerse them in activities that require creativity, problem-solving and handy work. When we make students responsible for solving real-world problems, we are actively providing them with a tool to express their own unique solutions and thought processes to learn new things. The course syllabus at BRIXEL based on LEGO EDUCATION Learning System aims to light up the senses of curiosity and eagerness to discover new things in students. With the rapid expansion of technology and communication channels, teachers can no longer rely on traditional teaching methods. Teaching methods must also evolve to keep up with this trend of change and improvement. In this syllabus, simply teaching reading, writing and calculations will not suffice. The students also have to be able to learn creative thinking and leadership as well. Only absorbing information is no longer ideal as lots of information are readily available.
What’s important is using that information to solve real-time problems. In the 21st century, students need to be encouraged to ideate and analyze information soundly and logically and to use their skills to derive new knowledge from them.
Doing this requires the teachers to adopt modern ways of teaching, so instead of merely transferring information to the kids, they encourage them to participate in the process of learning and solve problems and derive knowledge on their own with the help of their teacher. In modern teaching methods, students go from listeners to active participants in the classroom.
The goal of this teaching method is to involve the students in the problems of the world around them so that they can try and solve them. They will use technology and collaboration with other students to find new ways to solve problems. This will develop their individual and group critical thinking skills.
